Ffehr Design Goals

- to develop a Firefox extension which serves as a generic electronic health record; primary purpose is to generate standard reports such as clinical abstracts and discharge summary

- must be able to save files as XML files (compliant with HL7 CDA R2)

- XML files must validate with the HL7 schema (schema local copy) (http://xml.coverpages.org/CDA-ReleaseTwoSchema-200408.xsd)

- to simplify initial implementation, the XML instances will be supplied to the developers (these are simple implementations of the HL7 schema)

- FORMS: will follow the problem-oriented SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan diagnostics, Plan therapeutics) format

--- ADD NEW PATIENT

--- ADD NEW SOAP FOR PATIENT

Essentially, the extension will be like a NOTEPAD with ability to present structured forms, save data as XML, and to generate reports (from the XML files) in a structured format.
